Happy Friday!

We did it!  Our first week of school was a success!  I've been having a great time getting to know everyone, sharing stories and interests, and getting our classroom routines started.

A couple of pieces of information:

1. We have started our Mad Minute program.  Mad Minute is a daily, timed math practice testing each child's fluency in addition, subtraction, and beginning multiplication.  When a Mad Minute sheet comes home with a star, it means your child has passed that level and will move on to the next the following day.

2. Our class has two snack times built into our schedule.  One in the morning and another in the afternoon.  Please make sure that any snack brought to school is a healthy one.  Great snack ideas include cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies, yogurt, granola bars, pretzels, etc.  Also, your child is more than welcome to bring in a water bottle, which should be filled with water only (no juice or soda, please!).

I look forward to meeting you at Curriculum Night on Wednesday, September 12th at 6:30pm!

Have a great weekend : )
